This is the second edition of the workshop "Cosmic Rays à l'Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur" (CROCA), following its first event held at the Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur (OCA) in July 2022, which also corresponded to the kick-off meeting of the "Micro-physics of Cosmic-Ray Observables" (MiCRO) initiative led by Silvio S. Cerri.
The CROCA-2 workshop will bring together both theoretical and observational aspects of cosmic-ray/plasma astrophysics. To that end, attendance to the workshop is not strictly limited to current members of the MiCRO collaboration, and few external participants will be invited (and are welcome to join the MiCRO initiative). Plenty of room will be given to informal discussions and brainstorming. The goal of the workshop is to idenfity the next steps to be taken by the MiCRO initiative and to define few concrete problems to be addressed in the coming year by its members.
Main topics
- Cosmic-ray (CR) transport in the Galaxy and in the intracluster medium of galaxy clusters
- Theory and simulations of plasma turbulence and CR-turbulence interaction
- From local models to global simulations of CR transport
- Observational signatures of different transport models in direct/indirect CR data
- Coffee breaks are provided for all the workshop attendees.
For members of the MiCRO collaboration and for invited attendees:
- Lunch will be provided at the OCA restaurant.
- Financial support for traveling to Nice is available.(*)
(*) NOTE: due to the bureaucracy associated to this type of support, the financial-support file needs to be opened by the administrative staff at least 5 weeks before the departure. To ask for travel support, contact the organizers with "@ contact" (under "HELP" in the left column) and use the subject "Financial Support for CROCA-2".
